The beaches are chosen for their beauty and buzz factor, says Peter J. Frank, editor in chief of Concierge.com, a Conde Nast site for all that is travel.
"There's an ineffable quality that makes a particular beach 'sexy' -- sometimes it's the fact that it's filled with beautiful, gregarious people out to have a good time, like in Brazil or Mykonos," says Frank. "Or it could be that it's popular with surfers or other athletic girls and guys. Sometimes it's not the people themselves, as much as the energy and the excitement they give off: Kuta Beach in Bali is a great example of that."
