Carribean Maracas Bay Trinidad and Tobago Beaches

Pigeon Point Trinidad and Tobago Beaches

This long stretch of sand has a cove and a fishing village at one end. It's the local favorite, so it can get crowded on weekends. Lifeguards will guide you away from strong currents. Parking sites are ample, and there are snack bars and restrooms. Try a shark-and-bake ($2, to which you can add any of dozens of toppings, such as tamarind sauce and coleslaw) at one of the beach huts or in the nearby car park (Richard's is by far the most popular). Take the North Coast Road from Maraval (it intersects with Long Circular Road right next to KFC Maraval) over the Northern Range; the beach is about 7 mi from Maraval. North Coast Rd., Trinidad, Trinidad and Tobago.

Maracas Beach is the most popular beach in the North. It can be accessed by the Saddle Road through Maraval or by the Saddle Road from San Juan through Santa Cruz, and again onto the North Coast Road. It is about 45 minutes from Port of Spain. The beach is about 1850 m long and has off white sand. Waves are an average height of 1.0 m. and are ideal for surfing. Safety needs are met through the use of red flags indicating unsafe bathing areas and the presence of life guards daily from 10 am-6 pm.

Facilities are well maintained and include a large car park, tables, benches, changing rooms with showers, toilets and lockers. Visitors can enjoy the tasty local food from nearby vendors or bake & shark on the pits provided. On the hill above the Bay there is a restaurant and bar from which the visitor can enjoy the scenery and tranquillity. For those who wish to stay a little longer, the Timberline Nature Resort, located just off the 'look out' provides accommodation and tours within the area

If you're in search of the perfect beach for your vacation to Trinidad and Tobago, you may prefer one that is conveniently located and allows for a certain degree of privacy while still offering opportunities for social interaction; Maracas Bay is just waiting to be discovered.

The north coast of Trinidad is home to Maracas Bay, one of the more popular beaches on the island because of its rolling waves and shaded white sands. A beautiful drive through the Northern Range Mountains will lead you to these shores, where the amenities and famous snack foods are just as known as the beach itself.

Those searching to find a secluded spot in Trinidad and Tobago can find their perfect beach vacation at Maracas Bay. Cities aren't far away, but you won't be too far from the beaten path, you'll discover a great middle ground.

For some visitors the level of activity at a beach and its amenities are particularly important attributes. Others feel that opportunities for privacy and spending a relaxing day in the sun are the best part of the beach. No matter what you're looking for, Trinidad and Tobago has plenty to choose from, and Maracas Bay may be precisely the type of beach you most enjoy.
