Chapora Beach Goa, Travel Information
CHAPORA BEACH(Introduction) Chapora is a beacis a beach that is around 10
kms. from Mapusa, North Goa.One of the most interesting beaches of Goa. The most
basic attraction is Chapora Fort and the houses built in dense groves of coconut
palms. inhabited by a fishing community The best nearby attraction to this place
is Vagator Beach and Anjuna Beach. The best time to visit this place is from November
To March.
Chapora Beach is a very good place for those who have decided
for a long-term stay in Goa. The number of hotels in the areas near to the beach
is really very few but to supplement this there are rented houses that are scattered
among the coconunt plantations.
This is really a fascinating part of
the Goan coastline. The village is sitauted on the estuary of the Chapora River
and is overshadowed by a rocky hill where one can find a Portuguese fort too.
TRAVEL INFORMATIONS : One can really freak out on food in this
place as there plenty of restaurants, cafes etc. There are even banks, restaurants,
cyber cafes, hospitals, post office etc... etc....
APPROACH : Number
of buses come in from Mapusa and Calangute Beach to Chapora beach. More over there
are also Direct buses from Panjim. Rented Motorcycles as well as taxis are also
available.
ACCOMMODATIONS : Variety of reasonable guesthouses
as well as other accommodations are available. try the west side of the main street
in Chapora.
This is part of a 30 km stretch of beach coastline along
the west coast of Goa by the arabian sea that begins at Fort Aguada continues
as Sinquerim beach, then as Candolim beach and merges into Calangute beach and
then to Baga beach and then Anjuna beach and then to Vagator beach finally ending
at Chapora beach and Fort.
Approach There are a number of buses
that run from Mapusa and Calangute Beach to Chapora beach. The nearest interstate
bus station is at Mapusa, the KTC bus station.
