EEL Garden Dihab Sinai "
Goa of the Red Sea" EEL GARDEN
Land access. A great number of eels (Gorgasia sillneri)
on a sandy seabed, some 10-15 m deep. There's a shipwreck (at 10 to 15 m) which
scattered hundreds of toilet bowls on the bottom (the Yolanda, a South African
ship; the wreck disappeared after a storm in 1986. The site is called Yolanda
Bay), and off to the south-west (near the park's marine bundaries) is the wreck
of the Dunraven, a British vessel that went down (and turned over) in 1876 on
a voyage from Bombay to Newcastle in England. Many dive clubs combine diving this
wreck with that of the Thistlegorm.
