San Antario Spain, Beach Traveller Information SAN ANTANIO BEACH BAY You're never far
from a beach, five small ones are within short walking distance and in fact a
favourite way to start - or end - the day, is a stroll along the shoreline path
connecting the beaches that all have bars open 'til late.
You can also take a ferry boat to one of the nearby beaches, such as Cala
Conta or Cala Bassa. They depart hourly from many landing points along the bay.
The main beach
Below the splendid promenade, the Town Hall have
created an extremely good long, wide beach of fine, white sand drawn from the
sea (in June 2002).
The waters are clean and shallow, safe for children
and very inviting for less confident swimmers.
There are excellent watersports
facilities, and the water quality is high.
The Bay of San Antonio,
Ibiza, is famed for being one of the most beautiful in the Mediterranean. With
the thriving resort of San Antonio on the north side and the Bay holiday area
extending along the south; both enjoy panoramic views out to the islands and the
amazing sunsets to be seen all year round. In terms of holiday appeal they are
two distinctly different resorts. The Bay has a relaxed friendly atmosphere,
perfect for strolling around. By day, you are never far from a beach and at night
there's plenty to do and see. On the spacious terraces of the cafes & bars,
many have live shows & music until midnight when everyone continues the party
inside in air-conditioned comfort - or move on to the famous big clubs.
San Antonio is probably not what you have heard it's about. Reality TV is
not always real. San Antonio offers some of the best backstreet bars and restaurants.
The town stretches from the marina over the hill to the beach at the back on the
sunset strip. The sunset strip offers the very best of bars and restaurants. Try
Kanya for it's Thia cuisine or Savanahs for the best club sandwich you will ever
taste. If you are looking for a bar crawl, visit the Westend in the
evening, there are a variety of bars which offer something for everyone whatever
your nationality; Village bars, Karaoke bars, Party bars, soul bars, Danish, French,
English, Scottish, Welsh, Dutch.... the list goes on and on. See it for yourself
San Antonio bay is a little quieter than San Antonio town. It's perfect
for couples and families who like a more relaxed atmosphere. The bay has a great
variety of theme bars, restaurants and clubs. The hotels in the area also have
live shows which they open to the public. Most are free to enter. If you like
a bit of clubbing, make a visit to Summun, it has various nights on throughout
the week and the music ranges from 70s to present day music "Cala
de Bou" or San Antonio Bay is a little quieter than its robost cousin San
Antonio Town. San Antonio Bay is a good choice for familiys looking for safe clean
beaches and a good choice of places to stop and eat. There is a port
with a ferry in the bay that links with Denia on the Costa Blanca, on the spanish
mainland. If you are looking to take advantage of the nightlife
in Ibiza then head for San Antonio in during July and August when everyone heads
for their favourite San Antonio Beach bar to watch the sunset. Many people
also forget to mention that San Antoinio Bay is not just about large nightclubs,
this town in Ibiza also offers live music and both traditional and International
cabaret. There are a few small and gently sloping beaches in the resort,
offering watersports in high season. Many more beaches can be reached by ferry
or car, of which Cala Bassa, Cala Conta, and Cala Tarida are all worth a visit.
San Antonio Bay is ideal for souvenir shopping and beachwear. However, San
Antonio town offers a greater selection of local ceramics, leather goods and jewellery
for the more serious shopper. The Bay is still very convenient for the
town?s nightlife: buses and ferries circle the bay, and bicycles and cars can
be hired. San Antonio town centre has a variety of bars and clubs, while those
seeking a more relaxed atmosphere will be content with what San Antonio Bay has
to offer. Things
