| Sandy bay: Sandy Bay, a bit of a clamber across the boulders from Llandudno or a walk from the car park, is enclosed by sand dunes and well protected from the wind. It’s Cape Town’s nudist beach and not as busy as the other beaches, possibly because of the walk. But you can escape the crowds here and don’t have to be naked in order to experience the beach.
Sandy Bay nude beach is near the town of Llandudno, Cape Town. It has been used by naturists for many years, despite its unofficial status as a nudist beach. This beach of pale sand is quite isolated and surrounded by rocky coastline. There is a car park a mile or so from the beach so a short walk is necessary to reach the beach itself, although many nudists are happy to wander along the rocks.
Sandy Bay is mostly accessed from Llandudno. Llandudno can be reached from the Kirstenbosch\Wynberg\Muizenberg -side via Constantia neck, then Houtbay or from the City Centre\Waterfront side via Camps bay.
If you are in the CPD, follow the signs to Kloofneck (Cableway) and from there down the winding path to Camps bay. If you are at the Waterfront, take the Sea point Main road or Beach road to Clifton and Camps bay. Pass through Camps bay, following the signs "Llandudno\Houtbay" Before you reach Houtbay the road into Llandudno turns of near the top of Suikerboshill.
A little way in the road sweeps down to Llandudno beach at a three-way stop. DON'T follow the main road down, but carry on straight. You will then see a sign "Sandy Bay" follow this sign right down the winding Sandy Bay road. At the bottom the road loops with a one way protected by a boom, which is always open. You can park anywhere in this area.
You will usually find a cool drink vendor at the start of the footpath. The tar road jetties in towards the start of the footpath, which is also protected by bollards to keep vehicles out. From here you can't go wrong. Sandy Bay can be seen from this point and many nudists wander along the rocks although the beach is further in. Take a picnic lunch and plenty of fluids.
At the entrance is board erected the residents of Llandudno with directions of how to reach the beach from Houtbay. You can try it if you like, but the sign is there with an obvious agenda- it's only better if you are staying on that side.
Most non-Capetownians will be coming from the Waterfront (Seapoint\Campsbay) side, but if you are in Houtbay you carry on in the direction (follow the signs) Cape Town, Camps Bay, Sea point. Just as you cross the neck outside Houtbay you find the turn off into Llandudno.

 Boulders Beach,

| The glamour of beautiful bodies and the romance of cruising yachts moored in the shallows attract a lot of visitors here. Granite boulders divide the four white sandy beaches of Clifton sheltering them from the south-easter and offering safe bathing with a somewhat strong undertow. |

| Fish Hoek Beach | | The warmer waters of False Bay and the safest swimming beach in the Cape make Fish Hoek very popular. Nimble little hobie-cats with colourful sails are often launched and fishing boats can sometimes be seen coming and going. At the popular end is a café, children's playground, bench seats and plenty of people. . |

| Hout Bay | | This leafy village with its kilometre long, safe swimming beach and large fishing harbour offers everything you could want from a day by the sea. Launch trips to Seal Island are available and a San Franciso-style 'Mariners Wharf' houses gift and curio shops, restaurants and bars. As the headquarters of the crayfishing (rock lobster) fleet and home of the June/July Snoek Festival, the seafood here is delicious. |

Llandudno | Twenty kilometres south of Cape Town, this is the perfect romantic spot for a sheltered sunset picnic after some serious sunbathing. A narrow road winds its way down through an exclusive hillside suburb where there is not one shop. The charming spotless beach is tucked between huge granite boulders and is beautiful from any angle. There is a resident lifesaving club but beware of the strong surf and backwash. | |

This gorgeous 8 kilometre horseshoe curve of fine white sparkling sand is quite unspoilt and virtually deserted. It is the Cape's widest beach with plenty of room for kite flying, horse riding, jogging or just strolling barefoot with the dog, which every resident of the area does every day. | |

| Sandy Bay |
This unofficial nudist beach is backed by steep dunes and mountain slopes and the only way to get to it is a 20 minute walk from the car park or a clamber over rocks from the southern end of Llandudno. Narrow paths lead off the track, seaward to favourite sunbathing spots or inland to high sand dunes. |
